Church People are ‘people’

My husband and I are in the throes of launching a new website that we hope will benefit the members of our church and sister churches.  We’ve established our twitter and facebook pages and have begun to publicize the site.  Doing so has reminded me of one of my flaws.  I tend to take things personally whether people mean it that way or not.  This morning I posted something that included a typo.  A woman responded, in all caps mind you, about the typo.  This, or course, pissed me off!  I don’t mind so much her pointing it out, but why would you not just send a message (1), type in all caps (2), and not even respond to the actual question in the thread(3)?

Needless to say, I sent her a personal message.  I attempted to check myself and keep it positive (although the same couldn’t be said for her).  But, you can never quite say how people will receive what is being said.  Anyway – it’s 2k10 and one of my quests is to deal with things head on… politely but head on.

One Response to Church People are ‘people’

Hey, you’re human and therefore allowed a typo every now and then. As mothers we are moving at the speed of light, multi-tasking every moment of everyday.

What you’ve accomplished is wonderful, typo aside!
